If you want to renew a domain which has expired, there is a specific time period in which it can be renewed before it is released for general registration. The initial period after the expiration date of the domain is called the grace period, which is different for every domain. For example, the grace period for a .com domain is 60 days but for a .uk domain, the grace period is 30 days.
Once the grace period has lapsed, the domain may enter a redemption period. This usually lasts for 30-35 days but, again, is different for every domain name. Renewing a domain in the redemption period will incur an extra charge, as the registry charge a restoration fee. Please contact us immediately if you think your domain may be in redemption and you still wish to retain the domain.
