How do I transfer a domain out?

To transfer a domain away from KT Hosting, there are a few simple steps.

For .uk (Nominet) domains:

  • Raise a support ticket from your customer portal requesting the IPS tag be changed to that of your new registrar. The IPS tag will be provided by your new registrar when an order is placed. The transfer will usually complete within the hour.

For all other domains (TLD’s, ccTLD’s and gTLD’s)

  • Raise a support ticket requesting that the domain be unlocked and an authorisation code supplied.
  • Take the authorisation code to your new provider, who will then initiate the transfer.

We will never charge to transfer a domain away.
