Registry requirements for a .IE domain

The Irish registry are one of the strictest when it comes to registering domain names. They will only allow registrations from businesses/individuals who are based in Ireland or can prove that they trade (or plan to trade) with Ireland.

In order to process a .IE domain registration, we require some documentation:

  •  a letter on official letterhead (if applicable) outlining your claim on the proposed domain name. The claim must relate to the domain holder and not a 3rd party.
  • 2 of the following demonstrating substantial trade or commercial activity within Ireland:

Copies of invoices (showing trade to or from Ireland)
    High-quality brochures
A signed letter on headed paper from a bank manager, firm of chartered accountant(s), registered auditor(s), tax consultant(s) (where the tax advisor identification number is displayed), or solicitor(s) confirming the applicants trade with Ireland.
These documents can be sent via email to support@kthosting.com or by fax to +44 (0) 141 429 2060.

Once these documents have been accepted, the registration process is normally complete within 48 hours.
